Shared Valleys Down a Terrace Run
Streets in Roath, Cathays and Canton run thirty houses without a break, and the valley between your back addition and next door's is jointly owned, invisible from both gardens and the single most common source of upstairs damp we photograph in CF24. A ladder reaches one side of it. From above, the whole channel and both neighbouring slopes sit in one frame.
Back Additions and Bay Roofs
The two-storey rear outrigger and the small lead or felt roof over the front bay fail long before the main slope does, and both get skipped: too small to justify scaffold, too awkward for a ladder. We photograph them square-on, so a split bay flat or a failed abutment flashing is something you can see rather than something inferred from a stain indoors.
A City With Airspace Rules
Cardiff is not open sky. Parts of the city sit beneath controlled airspace, the Bay is close to the heliport, and major events at the Principality Stadium bring temporary restrictions and crowds we are not permitted to fly over. We check your postcode against current airspace before quoting, so the visit is planned around the rules rather than abandoned on the doorstep.

Do you need permission to fly a drone over my house in Cardiff?
We check the airspace for your specific postcode before quoting. Parts of Cardiff fall under controlled airspace and the Bay sits near the heliport, so some addresses need clearance and a few cannot be flown at all. You are told which applies to you before committing to anything.
Can you see the shared valley gutter between my terrace and next door?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons Cardiff owners call us. The valley between two back additions is invisible from either garden and cannot be reached safely by ladder. From above we photograph the full channel, both slopes and the abutment flashings in a single frame.
I own a flat in a Cardiff Bay block. Can you survey the roof?
We can, with the freeholder or managing agent's consent, since the roof is usually common parts rather than part of your demise. The Bay blocks use single-ply membranes with parapet outlets, where ponding water and silted drains show clearly from above. Leaseholders often use the images in service charge discussions.
Do you work for Cathays landlords with several properties?
Yes. Portfolio work is quoted per visit rather than per roof, so several addresses in Cathays or Roath on the same day cost considerably less than separate call-outs, and each property still gets its own report for a licensing or letting file.
